So by this time all of you should know that SQL Server "Denali" CTP 3 is out and about.

For all of you(like me) who rushed to download and install it, there is a little secret. There are a few feature packs as well available to accompany your new installation and Visual Studio 2010(with SP 1).

All the feature packs can be found here, including the alluding Books On Line which doesn't force you to connect to the internet version.

Happy exploring and testing the new features.

SQLArcher Very easy...Books on line :D I'm from South Africa, our broadband sucks, and going through BOL online takes ages.

Apart from BOL, I'm exploring the DACPACS, makes it easier in our SQL environment as we have over 6000 DB's and currently migrating 85% of them.

The only concern with these 'feature packs' are that MS can decide on a similar approach as Oracle to sell/license certain features.

SQLDenis nah...these are not the same kind of features

Oracle/Sybase charges for partitioning, compression, warehousing etc etc and list those as features

with SQL Server they come with a certain edition, if they charged per feature then licensing would really be a mess (it is already complicated as it is)
